What’s Up 1215

Vad händer den här veckan, 9-16 april, i seglingsvärlden.

Vi sammanfattar en tuff etapp av Volvo Ocean Race. Ken Read skrev:

I can’t really re hash the events and give them justice. Since you are all in the maritime industry in one form or another you understand what the weather gods can throw at you. Well, we were thrown a set of events that created a scene that I will never forget. Wave heights that were said to be measured at about 18 meters. Winds over 50 knots. Water temps down to 5.5c and air temps just above freezing. All while “racing” so there was no letting up or relaxing by any means.

Bottom line, we succeeded where others had a hard time. I could not be more proud of the entire team from the shore team to the boat builders to the sailors. As a “Team” we succeeded. The most important part success and the most reliable way of getting there.

Juniorerna kör Laser-VM i Buenes Aires. Själva avslutar vi Spi Ouest idag.

Vad händer mer?
