    Hi,
We have ordered a j11s, this is an adaptation to the J111, it is de-tuned and de-powered to suit short handed racing, am interested (that is if you have time?), to hear from you about how you found Blur behaved when you raced her two handed, was she a hand full and do you think the J11s will perform well being heavier and less sail area, obviously the twin rudders will help as well.
We are planning to do some two handed racing next season, with my son we competed in the RORC 600 on our Azuree 46 , we did ok but we lost time getting loads of weed around the keel and had to drop ails to sort this, then we lost more time as again we had to drop the sails in 25 knots to repair a broken batten car (we did this in the lee of an island), plus we lost more time when we changed from furling jib to heavy weather jib gain we chose to do this in the lee of an island plus more time when we responded to a pan pan distress, ( we got redress for this), so we reckoned we lost nearly 2 hours in total.
The 46 is a big boat and takes some handling when it comes to hoisting, gybing and dropping shuts, so we hope the J11S will be easier for us next time.
    Hope to hear from you.
    Regards, Jonty Layfield.

Great idea Jim, as I answer those questions from new J/111-owners regularly, I might as well get our thinking down in a followup article.
