But to date, the Whitbread 1989-90 was the pinnacle of the Finnish ocean racing on the international level. Those were crazy years, the end of the eighties – everyone thought that everything is possible but only a few years later the house of cards was to come crumbling down. But that was future and you shouldn’t worry too much about it. So in 1989 there were no less that three, yes, THREE maxi boats flying the Finnish flag on the Whitbread start line.
