Raw Ambition
Ytterligare ett gäng i Volvo Ocean Race? Man vill köpa Pumas träningsbåt (ABN AMRO Two) och har fått OK från Stu Wilson (Brasil 1 and Assa Abloy) som skipper.
Uppdateringar på Facebook (ja, det är 2008).
On the 4th October 2008, there will be seven boats on the start line of the Volvo Ocean Race. Raw Ambition Racing has the opportunity to be the eighth entry.
Unlike the other seven entries we are attempting to minimise costs, by making use of a boat from the previous race. The boat is Avanti; currently the training boat for Puma Ocean Racing. Previously the boat was known as ABN AMRO Two and it still holds the monohull 24 hour record of 563 miles. We are under no illusions of grandeur; we are seeking to enter the race as a team with the goal of finishing every leg. Our strength will come from our cohesion as a team, not from tens of millions invested or spent on team salaries. However, we are not just there to make up the numbers; we have a point to prove – a dedicated team with the right attitude can be competitive!
Even for 11 young guys with raw ambition and one very fast boat, 39,000 miles of ocean is a long way and we need your support.
