Just nu seglas Gold Cup på Bermuda. Ben Ainslie och Jesper Radich i final. Det verkar gå hett till…

Berntsson Sailing Team är på Bermuda och seglar Argo Group Gold Cup. Vi förlorade dagens semifinaler mot Ben Ainslie (GBR), som slutade 3-1 till Bens favör. Imorgon seglar vi match om tredjepris mot Erik Monnin (SUI). Ben Ainslie möter Jesper Radich (DEN) i finalen. Andra svenskar på plats är Björn Hansen & co som denna gång tyvärr ej lyckades avancera vidare från grundomgången.

Här kommer är ett videoklipp från en av kvartsfinalmatcherna som visar på ett kreativt sätt att rippa en spinnaker.

    Tydligen inte.

    Ainslie, Minoprio och Williams hamnade på samma poäng, och det är mycket svårt att förstå vad som hände sedan:

    “It is farcical,” said Williams, “that you could be knocked out based on a race you didn’t sail. It all came down to who won in Group 2 and we were not in that group. That’s basically it.”

    Minoprio who moved up said: “I feel that no decision would have been ideal, but I think in the end it was the fairest decision they could make. I am glad that it went in our favor although it was too bad it had to be decided in this way, but it was fair.”

    Ainslie added, I feel really sorry for Ian, but I have been in that situation before. It is sometimes impossible to break a tie to suit everyone. The jury has to work with what they have got. You have to take it on the chin and move on.”

      Inte alls!

      Ian Williams slog Ben Ainslie i “Repechage”. Men Ben gick ändå till kvarsfinal trots samma poäng som Ian.
