    30 extra platser…

Silverrudder Challenge sold out in three months

It took just three months to sell the 300 open slots for Northern Europe’s wildest sailing – BådNyts Silverrudder Challenge of the Sea. A small number of seats will be up for sale.

With approximately six months to start BådNyt and Svendborgsund Amateur Sailing Club can proudly announce that Silverrudder Challenge 2015 is sold out. After the latest update on March 27 it took just three more days before the race was sold out. The last seven enrollments does not significantly change the picture of how the boats are distributed in the different classes.

    Medium greatest
Largest class remains Keelboat medium that goes from 30 to 35 feet. Here there are now 87 boats registered. Then follows Keelboat Large, 35 to 40 feet, with 69 Registered, Keelboat Small, 25 to 30 feet, with 65 keelboats Mini, 18 – 25 foot by 39 and at least one kølbådene is the big XL-class greater than 40 feet, where 19 is registered. Multihull boats are also strongly represented and Silverrudder Challenge is close to the sailing in Denmark, which brings together most of the multi-legged. There are 17 registered boats in Multihull Small 18 – 25 feet and 4 in Multihull Large larger than 30 feet.

    Topping up to 300
Ticket sales will reopen from Friday, the 1 of May at 11:00 AM. The sale will close again when another 30 slots are sold. The reason for this reopening is the experience from Silverrudder Challenge 2012 to 2014. Here it turned out that about 15 percent of those enrolled do not show up on race day. In addition, there have been a few cases where the enrollment but not payment has gone through to Silverrudder Challenge. This means that the skippers will be taken off the list of participants when it is updated in late April.

    – There has been pressure on enrollments and therefore there was unfortunately a few errors. We have reviewed the registrations and payments and send a direct message to the skippers from whom we miss the entry fee. Further, we have experience with the percentage of no-shows has been a constant 10-15 percent of the total number of registered skippers. Therefore we are trying to secure that we really get 300 boats on the start line Friday, Sept. 18 by topping the list up with the 30 new entries, says Morten Brandt from BådNyt.

Registration reopens May 1 through BådNyts event site for
