— Sailing enthusiasts and professional teams across Northern Europe have a new benchmark for high-level competition: the Viking Challenge, a Scandinavian and Northern European ORC regatta series launching in 2026. The series brings together some of the region’s most prestigious races, featuring:
• Marstrand Big Boat Race, Sweden – 22-24 May
• Kieler Woche, Germany – 20-23 June
• Blue Week, Middelfart, Denmark – 29-30 August
with additional events and host countries to be announced in the future.,
The Viking Challenge is designed to elevate competitive sailing in Northern Europe, offering a platform for professional and semi-professional teams to compete at the very highest level. With a vision akin to a European or world championship, the series aims to attract top-tier teams from Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, and the Baltic countries, providing an arena for elite racing, skill development, and international exposure.

The inaugural Viking Challenge will kick off in 2026, with registration opening soon for teams seeking to compete across this exclusive series. Participating events will feature world-class race management, challenging courses, and a premium experience both on and off the water, ensuring that every race is a true test of strategy, skill, and teamwork.
