Volvo Ocean Race är i Lissabon. In-port och etappstart till helgen.
Till helgen är det också Nautiska Sandhamn Open som också inkluderar SM för X-35. Det seglas också Orust Runt, Hallandsseglingen i Halmstad, Kullaseglingen och massa annat.
EM för Starbåt i Italien och VM i Drake i La Rochelle.

Everyone,
racing postponed due to high winds and severe sea state.
No start before 13.00. Flag AP on land (by the notice board) down, or further information, on 12.00.
Information also on VHF 77.
The race committee have been out on the fjord, and it’s not safe. They’ve also investigated other options as the Älgö fjord, but there’s no room to set a decent course.
So stay tuned…

Time schedule depending on weather (it’s sailing).

Prize giving in Oscarsparken (at dock G) asap after results are ready.

Good morning everyone and welcome to Marstrand!
Friday is the day to take care of yourself, the crew and the boat to get ready for racing tomorrow. Most boats will arrive during the day.
Here’s some practical info to help you get through the day… Most of it also on the official event page.
Program
16.00–20.00 Registration at Marstrands Havshotel
Second floor, follow the signs.
16.00 Tune up race. This will be on the normal race area just west of Marstrand. One start. Register via SMS with bow number and boat name to +4670 555 00 40. (find your bow number here)
Docking
Check out the docking plan. Naturally many boats will be in the wrong spots, but this might be sorted either during the day (or worst case tomorrow after racing). There’s plenty of space and some free spots, so it should work out smoothly.
Fees are not included, so everyone pays for their own boat in the machine at the harbor office. Important!!

Friday Night
There is no formal welcome reception, so you’re free to explore Marstrand. But there will be live music, DJ and more at Marstrand Havshotell. If you want to eat, make reservations with the hotel or on their web. Other places to check out might be Maritime, Shanty-Shanty, Johans Krog and naturally Värdshuset where everyone seems to end up late at night.

Avståndsmätare för kappseglare?
Ibland springer man på saker som gör att man hajar till lite extra.
Genom åren har man haft olika varianter av pejlkompasser och kikare med kompass i för att försöka hålla koll på konkurrenterna. Och man har sett de stora killarna i America’s Cup mäta avstånd med laser.
Men nu finns teknologin paketerat på ett sätt så att vem som helst kan mäta avståndet till båten framför på en halvmeter när. Vi skall under säsongen testa Nikons Prostaff 7i för att se hur användbart det är för oss i vår typ av segling.
Så långt har jag bara testat den i hamnen, men det funkar sjukt bra.
En kul grej är att Pantaenius har gett 40 mätare till The Superyacht Racing Association så att de kan hålla avstånden när de kappseglar. Man skall ju ha minst 40 meter mellan båtarna.
