J/111 Blur³ has a new home 🇺🇸
We got the J/111 in 2012 and have done most of the legendary offshore races on our bucket list.
We’ve seen some amazing places, met many new friends, and logged over 30.000 NM.
Racing in Rolex Giraglia Cup in St Tropez.
But campaigning a boat on another continent is hard, and we want to do even more shorthanded offshore racing in Europe, so it’s time to turn the page and start a new chapter. Stay tuned for what’s next…
I’m super happy the boat will go to Florida as part of Merlin Yacht Racing. Chip Merlin is a passionate sailor, and I know that he and his team will continue to race the boat hard.
As a sailing nerd, I find it amazing that Blur³ (soon to be named Chip’s Ahoy!) is now a stablemate with the legendary Bill Lee design Merlin. In 1977, Merlin set a Transpac record (8 days and 11 hours) that stood for 20 years.
