The biggest names in match racing have descended on Malaysia ahead of this week’s Monsoon Cup, a competition that will decide one of the closest ever battles to capture the ISAF Match Racing World Championship crown. The 2011 season has been largely a tale of three teams, each now vying for the 2011 title – Ian Williams (GBR) Team GAC Pindar, Francesco Bruni (ITA) Bruni Racing and Torvar Mirsky (AUS) The Wave Muscat. Just over six points separate them with just the Monsoon Cup to go, an event that, for added spice, awards 1.5 times the points of a standard Tour event and a US$500,000 prize pool.
