Tyskarna verkar ha siktet inställt på Admiral’s Cup 2011. Betyder förhoppningsvis att vi kan få fler tyska båtar på Gotland Runt och andra race här i Sverige? De har ju ett par Rogers 46, en Elliott 52 och en del andra coola 50-fotare. Danska J/V 41 Visione verkar också på hugget… IRC har debatterats på Baadmagasinet och Dansk Sejlunion kommer från 2010 att erbjuda IRC-mätbrev.
The new international racing series in 2010 in Baltic and North Sea
At the initiative of German offshore Owners Association and in cooperation with owners of offshore racing organizations from Denmark, Sweden, Finland and Norway in 2010 is the first time a completely new racing series to the start: the hanseboot IRC Baltic Open. This race series is based on the common international evaluation of known ocean classic in the Baltic and North Sea.
A total of two to three per country established offshore races will be included in the calculation according to the international IRC handicap system. The goal of the organizers is to promote the Baltic Sea region to international competition of the offshore sailor and motivate them to increasingly compete in the races in neighboring countries. Therefore be evaluated for each yacht in each case, the two best results, taking into account the size of the participating field. Extra points are also awarded for crews who participate in races of at least two different countries.
