En 30-fotare som gör 119 distans på lite över 10 timmar under HSBC Premier Coastal Classic. Sweet…
Elliott 9m Overload has smashed the Coastal Classic record for boats under 30 ft, finishing at Russell wharf after 10hours 23 mins 56 secs 1 hour 7 minutes ahead of the old record set in 1996. This also eclipses the under 35 ft and under 40ft record. Owners Matt and Scott Randell and crew worked hard throughout the race, which was sailed at an intense pace, to be the first 9m monohull home. Overload was the 8th monohull to finish and won the prestigous race on handicap overall. John Meades Elliott 50, RanTan, was a star performer as the 2nd monohull on line and ahead of the pre race favourite the new 52ft Georgia. The double handed division was won by the Elliott 6.5 Geralda, finishing over an hour ahead of the next boats. This outstanding performance meant Geralda also won the division on handicap.
