“Another day, another gale”
“Another day, another gale”. The title was used by the official race web site, who published this the day I took it. We were getting used (not to mention bruised) to the gales by this time, but the North Sea was tougher work than the open Atlantic as the waves were closer together. Beautiful though. Absolutely stunningly beautiful!!!
Before the race. A misty morning – motoring out to the start line for the Round Britain and Ireland Challenge yacht race.
One more sunny shot…. Most likely very boring to many people…but this is a significant moment.!! This is when we took the lead at the start of the round Britain and Ireland race in October!!! OK….we lost the lead soon after, but what the heck – “better to have led once than never to have led at all”!!
Horizon gone. It was actually much more dark that the image indicates…you can see the flash reflected off of the crew’s kit. I really like the orange glow off of the Storm Sail at the front, the way the spray is blurred across the bow and the angle of heel on the boat. It was getting a bit serious now!!!
“Big wave”. I can’t recall if this was a particularly big wave – but this is the best shot I got of spray and water sweeping right back to us in the cockpit.
