The oceanic Veolia Oceans® one-design was imagined by Yvan Griboval. It was created taking into account remarks made by the many skippers consulted. Then Michel Desjoyeaux became involved in the definition of the boat. Jean-Marie Finot, Pascal Conq and their team of designers, designed this new round-the-world oceanic monohull. Any decision about the Veolia Oceans® One Design was taken collectively by the Finot-Conq Group, Michel Desjoyeaux and Yvan Griboval, who were joined by Christian Brit, in charge of its construction, in Spring 2006. Erwan Tabarly is the skipper for the test and preparation of the first Veolia Oceans® one-design for the SolOceans Round the World Reconnaissance Tour.
