Sweet… Airborn Foiler
Thomas Tison är ju en designer som som ligger på framkant. Vad sägs om den här maskinen som skall göra det enkelt att foila för oss vanliga seglare?
Today, we are releasing the Airborn Foiler, new single handed foiling dinghy with electric foil control. A real ‘Iphone moment‘ for sailing, with a design that combines foiling and ease of use, at an affordable price.
Imagine walking up to your boat, you remove the top cover, raise the sail, press the ‘ON’ button, and simply go foiling at 25+ knots in all silence : no hard efforts, no complexity, just pure speed.
This is what the Airborn Foiler is about.
It’s in the tradition of sailing to evolve, from the displacement dinghies (Laser, Finn), sailing evolved to skiff sailing (29er, 49er) and today the Airborn continues to push what a single handed foiling dinghy is for this next decade and allows everyone with a sailing background to jump on board and sail, but fast.
The electric system scans every wave and balances the movements of the boats to adjust flight in real time so you don’t have to.
High-performance sensors deliver instant stability during takeoff, flight and manoeuvers adjusting behaviour according to the sea state and ensuring maximum performance.
So you can focus on your speed, feelings and tactics, for those who love speed, and for high end racing.
A powerful lithium battery provides 4 hours autonomy, plenty of time for a day out.
The Airborn Foiler features the best type of hydrofoils: T-shaped carbon hydrofoils that remain underwater thus delivering the uninterrupted speed of true flight.
Engineered for early takeoff and maximum efficiency, the long foils facilitate take off, upwind performance and allow you to sail in locations with light airs, more often and in more places.
Designed for consistent, high quality sailing from 8 to 20 knots of wind, the Airborn takes off in winds as low as 6 kts and is capable of reaching today’s speeds of up to 30 kts.
