smarttune installation on J/111 Blur
For some time I’ve been looking for a way to measure forestay tension. Both to collect data for analysis but also to get a clear visual reference for both trimmers and helm. Today we have references on the hydraulic cylinder and have to turn around to figure out if we’re on 5 or 8.
I’ve had a shear pin load cell on my to-do-list for years, but it always felt like a small integration project, and never got done. But when Cyclops Marine approached me with the wireless smarttune, it felt way easier. And as seen in the video, it took me less than an hour from opening the box to a number on the mast display:

Super-enkel att installera nĂ€r man har ett N2K-nĂ€tverk, bra film by-the-way. Jag har ocksĂ„ en hydraulisk akterstagsstrĂ€ckare och fĂ„r precis som du gjorde “innan” Smarttune kolla pĂ„ manometern vid Ă€ndringar av spĂ€nningen i akterstaget.
Men jag under lite vad det Àr för enhet pÄ 0.67? Jag antar att det Àr metriska ton och jag Àr ocksÄ intresserad av max förstagsspÀnning dÄ det inte bara Àr akterstaget som pÄverkar dragkraften i förstaget och om du har hunnit dra nÄgra andra slutsatser.

Har bara hunnit köra i lÀtt vÀder. DÄ blev max 1.8 ton innan storen inverterade:
