I’ve been getting some questions on what we think about about our new Deckvest Vitos, and what gear I have inside.
First, it’s apparent that the Deckvest Vito is developed for the type of sailing we do; long offshore races where it’s important that the crew want to use the vest. It’s much easier on the back, and not in the way when working on deck.
An added benefit is that there’s room opposite the Hammar hydrostatic automatic inflator (that’s on the left side). So instead of having the PLB in a separate pack, it now fits in the lower right corner together with an additional strobe. We also use the MOB1 AIS MOB device attached to the inflation tube.
