Sometimes things come full circle.
One of the reasons I got into sailing, especially offshore racing, was all the fantastic photos from offshore races around the world. When I was young, magazines like Yachting World and Segling inspired me to get onto big boats and do longer races.
One of those amazing photographers was Billy Black.
And now, many years later, he suddenly shows up at the dock at Newport Yacht Club.
We start talking, and I thank him for being a small part of me being there, ready to start a solo race to Bermuda.
