Visst är 505 en cool båt. Men framförallt visar 2010 SAP 505 World Championship framfötterna när det gäller presentationen av regattan på Internet.
Här kan många arrangörer få inspiration.
The 2010 SAP 505 World Championship is organised by Sailing Aarhus in cooperation with Sport Event Denmark, Sport Aarhus Event and the Danish Sailing Association. With a strong focus on innovation and new technology to promote sailing to a wider audience, Denmark and the City of Aarhus are bidding for the ISAF Worlds 2014, the most prestigious regatta next to the Olympic Games.
Tracking, livesändning från havet, Twitter, dagliga videorapporter med insatta intervjuare, analyser, … Och det är inga demos med teknikleverantörer som vill visa vad man kan “hitta på” (med undantag av SAPs analysverktyg) utan det hänger ihop och man har använt de standardverktyg som finns på Internet: YouTube, Bambuser, Flickr, Twitter, …
Och så småsaker. Som en personlig presentation av hela tävlingsledningen, med mail och direktnummer. Inte något anonymt mailalias som ingen ändå svarar på.

Melges 24 Worlds 2010
Så här såg det ut på dagens träningsrace inför Marinepool Melges 24 World Championship 2010 i Tallin (kolla också in Melgesseglarnas blogg).
Well, as the old regatta adage goes ‘It’s not normally like this here….’. We were expecting winds in the 10 – 15 knot range here in Tallinn, but today during an informal training session for a few of the teams, the venue demonstrated that it has a wilder side with winds in the low twenties and some very nice surfing waves.
The chance to get up close and personal with the boats in some big breeze was simply too good to miss so Pierrick Contin and I jumped in the rib and shot this video to give you an idea of what the World Championship fleet could have to deal with over the next few days…
